I completed the Gold Eagle Capital 2001 Limited transaction with American Re Securities Corporation. This was an offering of index linked notes that transferred hundreds of millions of dollars of risk from a major reinsurance company to investors. Investors, in turn, received a risk premium that compared favorably with other securities bearing comparable risk. This was the first catastrophe bond to trade DTC.
